Gift Guide: Unique Finds for Skiers and Snowboarders from Independent Brands

Gift Guide: Unique Finds for Skiers and Snowboarders from Independent Brands

Every year, as the winter season approaches, the Christmas shopping season comes right along with it. If you have a skier or snowboarder on your shopping list, getting them something that will help them gear up for days on the slopes is a great idea. At Fautlline395, we believe in supporting fellow independent outdoor brands, so this gift guide showcases products from smaller, independent brands along with some suggestions from larger, more established brands.

Lift Tickets & Season Passes

The best possible gift you can get a skier or snowboarder is access to his or her favorite ski resort. These days, most ski resorts in the US are part of the Epic Pass or Ikon Pass. These passes allow you access to dozens of resorts and they offer anything from an unlimited season pass to single day tickets. Check out their websites for details.

Warm and Stylish Beanies

Lift tickets can be a little pricey, so if you are looking for a more affordable gift for that skier or snowboarder in your life, then a winter hat is a great option. An up-and-coming outdoor brand that we really like is Autumn Headwear. They offer a ton of stylish beanies offered in different fits that start at just $22. Coal Headwear is another great option. They are a larger, more established brand, but they offer a ton of great outdoor headwear options. Lastly, if you are looking for something kind of funky, check out Dover Developmental. They are a small brand owned by Pro Snowboarder Danny Kass and they specialize in unique fleece beanies, a style that is trending right now.

Snowboarding Hoodies That Stand Out

Waterproof hoodies not only perform well on the mountain, they help elevate your slope style, making them a great option for gifting. A newer, independent snowboarding brand that we recently discovered is Benetek. They offer some great hoodies that have a ton of features, and any snowboarder would appreciate one of their Tech Hoodies under the Christmas tree. Another option is the tried and true waterproof hoodie from 686, a brand that has been around for decades that makes awesome snow products.

Men's Flannels (or Women's Flannels) for Versatile Comfort

A great gift option for anyone who loves the outdoors is a nice quality flannel. The classic button up flannel shirt is something that almost any person who likes to ski or snowboard would appreciate as a gift, even if it isn't necessarily designed to be worn on the slopes. Check out the small independent brand Truckee Flannel Co. for some high quality, unique flannel options. We also like the brand Kavu because the have a ton of fun and unique styles in their line, including flannel shirts.
